Father's Day

We were so lucky to have Daddy home with us on his first Father's Day.

Colin kicked back with a bottle while Daddy opened his gifts.

Colin made Daddy a special book with a bunch of photos of the two of them.  (This book has now become one of Colin's favorites to "read")

After church, we went to the Children's Museum in downtown Charleston.  Colin had a blast in the toddler room.

We discovered a castle that Colin absolutely loved.  He was so excited to stand up and look down at everyone below.

Wow! Look how high up he was!  We're looking forward to heading back to the Children's Museum as Colin gets a little older.

It was a great day with Daddy.  Colin is a true daddy's boy.  You can see in his eyes just how much he adores his dad.

Colin is 11 Months Old

One more month and our sweet baby is going to be a one year old!  Boy does time fly.  Colin went from having a difficult time chewing and swallowing chunkier foods to insisting on only these types of food and feeding it himself.  Gone are the days of spoon feeding Colin.  He doesn't even like to be fed yogurt anymore.  It's been a little bit of a challenge making sure the food is soft enough for him and trying to keep a balanced diet.  Luckily, Colin is a veggie man.  He finished this entire plateful of broccoli and potatoes in no time!

Colin has spent lots of time perfecting his crawling, although still on his belly for the most part.  He still likes to stop and examine the smallest little specs he finds on the floor...

The new development for this month....pulling up on furniture! 

Colin was pretty excited when he first discovered this ability.

He's done some cruising but for the most part pulls himself up, plays for a while, and then fusses because he doesn't know how to safely get back down.

Although blurry, I wanted to highlight another tid bit about Colin.  A few months back he started to twist his finger in his ear whenever he was nervous or unsure of a situation.  Even though it sometimes causes him to scratch his ear, its a good sign for me to know he needs a little extra lovin to feel safe. (Shout out to Susann and Uncle Hunter for the awesome bunny rabbit!)

Colin continues to have the sweetest demeanor and even when upset, he tries to smile on through it....

Nana & Grandpa Visit

Just one day after Nana was finished teaching 2nd grade for the year, Nana and Grandpa hopped in the car and made the 10 hour trek down to Charleston.  We were so excited to have them.  This was the first time they were able to visit our house since having Colin.

Colin immediately hit it off with Grandpa....(thanks for the presents!)

We ate dinner outside on our first night and Colin discovered a new teether - a cork!

We had one full day in Charleston before heading to Myrtle Beach the next day.  After church, we spent the rest of our day at the beach.

A storm threatened us the entire time we were at the beach but thankfully held off so we could enjoy our time together.  Back at home, we attempted to have a cookout when the skies finally opened.  We were all cozy inside...

...and enjoyed a special treat Mommy made Nana who happens to love ladybugs.

Nana and Grandpa rented a timeshare in Myrtle Beach where we spent the next five days.  Colin adjusted just fine to the new environment and it was a relaxing time had by all.
