The Zoo and Hokies too!

One of the highlights of our time in Alabama was our trip to the Montgomery Zoo.  We really enjoyed all of the animals and were impressed with how close we could get to them.

Check out the whiskers on this cat:
It was an absolutely gorgeous day (much like most days we have had in Alabama).  Colin loved the fresh air and blissfully slept the whole time in the stroller.

Here he is passed out just like the lion behind him.  Be on the look out for Colin looking even more like a lion at the end of the month! (hint hint)
What was the best part of the day you ask?  Why it was feeding the giraffes, of course! This was basically my childhood dreams come true!  My favorite animal of all time is the giraffe.  As a kid, we frequented the Baltimore Zoo (now the Maryland Zoo) and I always insisted on spending half the time at the giraffe exhibit, no matter how stinky it might have been!

So happy:

Ready for round two:

Yum, Yum:
After our exciting day at the zoo we went back to base for a not so exciting Hokies game. Daddy carried Colin around in the Bjorn for most of the game.  There was lots of bouncing to help relieve some of the stress of the score.
Taking a break from the game for some smiles:
Check out those Hokie feet:
Colin wasn't too happy about the score either:
We watched the second half of the game at some fellow Hokies dorm room. Our hopes that a change of scenery might help our team come back were short lived as Clemson continued to beat us and eventually win. At least we had other Hokies to commiserate with!  On a brighter note, the Lions won making their record 4-0!! This is the first time this has happened in 31 years!!
