Back in January, our good friend Ben planned to visit us over Valentine's Day/President's weekend. We were unsure whether the baby would have arrived yet or not. As you'll see the baby was still comfy cozy inside my belly so we got to enjoy lots of quality time with Ben. Our first full day together was Valentine's Day, so after getting decked out in red we headed downtown for lunch.
A trip to our house is not complete without a trip to the beach. Although much colder than usual, we all bundled up and headed out for a walk on the shore.
C-man was ready for dinner so we left the beach for Poe's, one of our favorite restaurants. Ben got to experience their famous burgers and fries and I'm pretty sure Colin ate a pound of fries himself.
Ben's last day in town was really cold and windy for Charleston but we made the best of it by taking a ferry to Fort Sumter. The firing by the Confederates onto this fort (held by the Union) was the start of the Civil War.
Colin enjoyed the ferry and the shoulder ride throughout the fort.
He even did a little reading in the museum...
Colin was full of smiles and giggles on the ferry home since it was past nap-time and he was beginning to get delirious.
Sadly, after getting back home and putting Colin down for his nap it was time for Ben to go. We had a great time with him and we're so thankful he could come visit!
