Life with the Goodwillies: Genevieve is 2 months!

Our sweet baby girl is two months old and still a little cuddle bug. She loves to be held all day long. Pretty much every nap takes place wrapped up on mommy's chest in the moby. Once she finally passes out (she likes to fight the sleep like big brother!) she is out cold- not even Colin screaming at the top of his lungs can wake her. Sometimes it actually seems she prefers it when he's crying. I guess it reminds her of all the sounds she heard in the womb those last few months.

Fortunately for Momma she lets me put her down in the evenings and although we had a few rough evenings where it took till after midnight to put her down she starting to fall asleep between 8 & 9 each night. Her first stretch of sleep is always the longest and will last anywhere from 3-6 hours. This is amazing! Once she does wake she just hops in bed with mommy and daddy for the rest of the night. She's usually not ready to wake up when we do but as soon as mom gets up she's awake!

Genevieve is a power nurser. She fills up quickly and refuels often. It works out pretty well for Momma who is trying to keep up with a toddler as well. I guess whatever we're doing is working since she remains in the 90th percentile for weight (12 lbs 9 oz) and is up to the 90th percentile for height as well (23.5 in). She doesn't look like the 90th percentile for weight and at her doctors appointment the doctor even commented on where that weight was coming from. Besides being so long I guess she has some dense bones! A big difference from her brother who usually falls in the 25th percentile.

Speaking of baby girls doctor appointment...she did not like her shots!! She couldn't believe we would hurt her like that. She has the sweetest little pouty face in the world and wore it for most of the evening following her shots. She seemed to be in so much pain and just wanted mommy to snuggle with her nonstop. Daddy had to fly all night so until brother was asleep it was a little crazy in our house.

"Mommy, why are you torturing me like this when I'm in so much pain?" Note to self: Take photos BEFORE shots next time.

Genevieve is a lover for sure. She smiles all of the time and has the sweetest cooing voice. She loves when mommy or daddy talks to her and loves to talk back as well. She evens talks to the birds on her bouncer seat (usually while filling up her diaper with a nice surprise).
