Colin has been working a lot on his head control during tummy-time. He is really starting to get the hang of lifting his head and is gaining the strength to keep it up...at least long enough for me to grab a picture.
Colin was not supposed to have a three month appointment at the doctors however, we made a visit because we were concerned with his head always tilting greatly to his right side. We thought he may have torticollis, a twisted neck in which the head is tipped to one side, while the chin is turned to the other. We wanted to begin physical therapy if necessary but the doctor felt that because he has so much range in how he moves his head and can look from side to side that he doesn't have torticollis so no PT for now. I do have a very good chiropractor who does some work on Colin when I go to my appointments and we're hoping that will make a difference. At the appointment, our doctor suggested we get Colin the "Bobby Noggin Nest" to keep his head from tilting ~ turns out I had already found and bought this product on amazon as soon as my first-time mommy paranoia set when I feared torticollis. The product really does work! Check it out.
Before: After:
Colin weighed in at over 13 1/2 pounds at the appointment. He is becoming quite the hefty guy. I think a lot of his weight is due to his length! He is a loongg boy!
His cheeks are really starting to fill out. Look at how big the bowtie looked on him last month!Colin is a pretty serious dude. Most of the time he looks like this:
He started to smile towards the end of this month which was really exciting. Mommy was able to catch a half smile here:
And a full one here:
Finally, the biggest change in Colin this month besides his smiles and size has been his new talkative nature. He loves to babble on, and on, and on. He seems to be making vowel and consonant sounds. I am not surprised...it is in his genes to be a talker after all.
